این اثر توسط "ماری فرانسواز کولومبانی" روزنامه نگار مجله "ال" و "شکیبا هاشمی" رئیس سازمان غیر دولتی افغانستان آزاد، گرد آوری شده است و در سال ۲۰۰۵ میلادی در اروپا به زبان انگلیسی به چاپ رسیده است. و موفق به دریافت جایزه "وریته" سال ۲۰۰۵ هیات داوران شده است. این کتاب گفته های پری گل، همسر احمد شاه مسعود است که وقتی با مسعود ازدواج کرد طبق سنت خانوادگی نام صدیقه را برای او انتخاب کردند. اگر چه مسعود همیشه او را پری صدا می زده است.
